NIRVANA’S LEGENDARY NEVER-BEFORE-RELEASED 1992 READING CONCERT SET TO DEBUT IN NOVEMBER

“Nirvana headlining at Reading in 1992 was something you had to see, and if you didn’t see it then it was something you pretended you saw.”
–Kerrang (October 2003)
“The staggering energy and intensity radiating from the stage never let up… Cobain’s ravaged pop songs coming off like some dream marriage of the Sex Pistols and the Beatles, borne on bracing waves of distorted guitar noise.” –Rolling Stone (October 29, 1992)
Ranked #1 in Kerrang Magazine’s “100 Gigs That Shook The World” and voted as “Nirvana’s #1 Greatest Moment” by fans in an NME poll, Nirvana’s historic August 30, 1992 headlining appearance at the UK’s Reading Festival is one of the most bootlegged concerts in the annals of rock n roll. Now, fans will have an opportunity to own a pristine copy of that entire performance — color-corrected video from the original film with audio sourced from the original multi-track masters. Nirvana Live At Reading will be issued in a limited edition CD+DVD Deluxe Edition as well as DVD-only, CD-only configurations on November 3, 2009, followed by a 2LP version on November 17, 2009.
While the show’s centerpiece was a performance of nearly the entire Nevermind tracklist, also noteworthy were early performances of three as yet unrecorded songs which wouldn’t be released until 2 years later on In Utero: “All Apologies,” “Dumb,” and in its first ever public performance, “Tourettes.” The career-spanning setlist also reached back to the band’s 1989 Sub Pop debut album, Bleach, for “Blew,” “About A Girl,” “School,” “Negative Creep” and first single “Love Buzz,” and even further back to the mid-‘80s for “Spank Thru.” Other songs from the Reading set would appear in studio form on the Incesticide compilation later in the year: “Aneurysm,” “Been A Son” and “Sliver.” Additionally, the band played a pair of beloved covers by two bands that helped shape the formative Nirvana sound – “The Money Will Roll Right In” by Fang and “D-7” by The Wipers.
Only 2 of the 25 performances on the DVD have ever been released before.

TIME LIFE CELEBRATES THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME WITH A LANDMARK DVD COLLECTION OF 125 HISTORIC INDUCTION CEREMONY PERFORMANCES
August 23, 2009 by admin
Filed under New Releases - DVD/Blu-ray

This Fall, Time Life commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame with an unprecedented, comprehensive collection of performances compiled from a quarter century of induction celebrations. The ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME LIVE DVD collection boasts 125 remarkable performances by the most influential and significant figures in rock music history, as well as the speeches, toasts and roasts by which these members of rock royalty salute each others’ accomplishments. History is made when legendary artists such as Mick Jagger and Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen and Bono, Crosby, Stills & Nash and Tom Petty, take the stage for once-in-a-lifetime collaborations. The ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME LIVE set includes nine DVDs, eight of these featuring an assortment of performances spanning more than two decades of ceremonies, as well as induction and acceptance speeches, and never-before-seen backstage and rehearsal footage. A ninth DVD features The Concert For The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame, a star-studded concert event which opened the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland in 1995.
Never before available, the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME LIVE DVD set is an unparalleled rock ‘n’ roll experience – over 24 hours of rare and exclusive performances and footage – and a must-own for every music fan.
On October 20, the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME LIVE 9-DVD set will be available for purchase exclusively online for $119.96 via the DVD website www.RockHallDVDs.com or www.TimeLife.com.
Each year, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honors rock music’s pioneering figures during prestigious, black-tie ceremonies. Rock’s biggest stars induct their biggest influences and contemporaries, with heartfelt, wise and witty speeches. Over the years, Paul McCartney has inducted John Lennon, Paul Simon has inducted Stevie Wonder, Steven Tyler has
inducted AC/DC, Elton John has inducted The Beach Boys, and in turn, Elton John was inducted by Axl Rose. ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME LIVE includes a staggering 52 of these tributes, all complete and unedited. But, it’s during the live performance part of the ceremony when rock history is really made.
With egos set aside, the artists take the stage and deliver once-in-a-lifetime performances, often with a truly mind-blowing combination of talent, such as Mick Jagger performing with Bruce Springsteen, REM with Eddie Vedder, The Band with Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck with Jimmy Page. As Robbie Robertson once commented, “It’s an opportunity to see musical combinations we may never see again as long as we live,” Case in point, 1988’s ceremony featured a jaw-dropping performance of The Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There” with George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, John Fogerty, Mick Jagger and Billy Joel. The ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME LIVE DVD set includes 125 of these musically historic performances, from Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry rockin’ “Roll Over Beethoven” at the inaugural ceremony in 1986, to Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Ron Wood, Joe Perry, Flea, and Metallica’s rendition of “The Train Kept A-Rollin’” at this year’s ceremony in April. As a bonus, a ninth DVD contains the 1996 Concert For The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame featuring an all-star line-up including John Mellencamp, Bon Jovi, Lou Reed, Soul Asylum, The Allman Brothers, Sheryl Crow, The Kinks, Ann and Nancy Wilson, John Fogerty, James Brown and Al Green.
The Rock and Roll of Fame Foundation and Museum’s anniversary celebration will extend beyond the DVD set, with both a book and two groundbreaking concerts this fall. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: The First 25 Years, chronicling 25 years of induction ceremonies, will be published by Collins Design (an imprint of HarperCollins) in September. In October, the Hall of Fame will present two live concert events at Madison Square Garden in New York, featuring performances by Eric Clapton, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Aretha Franklin, Metallica, Paul Simon, Simon & Garfunkel, Stevie Wonder, and U2.
About the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation and Museum: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation was established 25 years ago by legendary record executive Ahmet Ertegun and a group of music business executives to honor the artists that have defined rock and roll and have inspired and continue to inspire a generation. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is the nonprofit organization that exists to educate visitors, fans and scholars from around the world about the history and continuing significance of rock and roll music. It carries out this mission both through its operation of a world-class museum designed by I.M. Pei in Cleveland, Ohio that collects, preserves, exhibits and interprets this art form and through its library and archives as well as educational programs.

On December 12th, 2007, Cheap Trick Performed Sgt. Pepper Live at the The Waldorf Astoria in New York City for the Prostate Cancer Foundation Charity Concert & Auction. A live DVD and CD of this performance are scheduled for release on August 25th with all artist proceeds from sales to benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation. The New York Philharmonic and special guests Joan Osborne, Ian Bell of Gomez, singer-songwriter Rob Laufer and an Indian instrumental ensemble, lend their talents to the cause. Geoff Emerick, who engineered the original album in 1967 and engineered Cheap Trick’s All Shook Up with George Martin for Epic in 1980, oversaw all elements of the recording and mixing.
Sgt. Pepper Live featuring Cheap Trick originated in 2007 when the band was invited to be special guests of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra’s performance of the 40th Anniversary of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band record release. The concert was reprised the following year and the shows sold over 50,000 tickets combined. At these shows, as at The Waldorf, the band performed a track-by-track rendition with the orchestra, an Indian ensemble and an array of very special guests. Michael Milken, founder and chairman of the Prostate Cancer Foundation, was at one of the Los Angeles shows and invited the band to re-create the event for his legendary holiday fundraiser in New York City.

Eagle Rock Entertainment are proud to announce the release on 9 June 2009 of a double-disc DVD set from ZZ Top, the fantastic “Double Down Live” [Cat No EREDV764]. This is the first historic ZZ Top concert performance ever to be approved for release by the band. “Double Down Live” is packed with early ZZ Top classics including: “La Grange”, “Tush”, “Jesus Just Left Chicago”, “I’m Bad, I’m Nationwide”, “Heard It On The X”, “Cheap Sunglasses”, “Tube Snake Boogie” and more, many of which remain in their live set to this day. Disc two combines great full live performances with the first ever “behind the scenes” look at ZZ Top on tour.
“Double Down Live” combines shows from 1980 and 2008. Disc One was filmed at the Grugahalle in Essen, Germany for the Rockpalast TV series. Hot on the heels of their classic “Deguello” album (it features 9 of the 10 songs from it) the show finds ZZ Top before sequencers and synthesizers epitomising their “lil’ ol’ blues band from Texas” nickname. Complimented by tracks drawn predominantly from their “Tres Hombres” and “Fandango!” albums this is a true best of ZZ Top in the seventies. Disc Two was shot during their European tour in 2008 and combines great live performances, interview clips and back stage footage to create the ultimate ZZ Top on the road movie.
Disc One – Definitely Then 1980
1) I Thank You 2) Waitin’ For the Bus 3) Jesus Just Left Chicago 4) Precious And Grace 5) I’m Bad, I’m Nationwide 6) Manic Mechanic 7) Lowdown In The Street 8) Heard It On The X 9) Fool For Your Stockings 10) Nasty Dogs & Funky Kings 11) El Diablo 12) Cheap Sunglasses 13) Arrested For Driving While Blind 14) Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers 15) La Grange 16) She Loves My Automobile 17) Hi Fi Mama 18) Dust My Broom 19) Jailhouse Rock 20) Tush 21) Tube Snake Boogie 22) Just Got Paid
Disc Two – Almost Now 2008
1) Got Me Under Pressure 2) Waitin’ For The Bus 3) Jesus Just Left Chicago 4) I’m Bad, I’m Nationwide 5) Blue Jean Blues 6) Heard It On The X 7) Just Got Paid 8) I Need You Tonight 9) La Grange (with Sloppy Drunk & Bar-B-Q) 10) Hey Joe 11) Tush
With nearly 30 years between the performances the set gives a fascinating insight into what has maintained the ZZ Top live phenomenon. Coming on the back of the huge success of the “Live From Texas” Eagle releases of this year and as the band bring the “Double Down Live Tour” to Europe [Wolverhampton Civic Hall Oct 27 and London Wembley Arena on Oct 28] this is absolutely unmissable!
Due for release 19 October

At long last, the definitive official DVD for one of the greatest groups of the sixties (or any other decade for that matter.). Small Faces: All Or Nothing 1965 – 1968 features 23 complete performances filmed from 1965 to 1968 when the band was challenging the Who, Kinks, Stones and Beatles for domination of the charts. The DVD captures every aspect of their short but brilliant career including early Mod/R&B classics such as “What’cha Gonna Do About It”, “Sha La La La Lee” and “All Or Nothing”, timeless rockers like “Tin Soldier” and later psychedelic masterpieces including “Itchycoo Park”, and “Green Circles.” Best of all is the inclusion of eight songs from the band’s LP masterpiece Ogden’s Nut Gone Flake including “Lazy Sunday”, “Song Of A Baker” and the six song Happiness Stan suite. In between the performances original members Ian McLagan, Kenny Jones and Jimmy Winston talk about the songs and tell the band’s history in new interviews filmed exclusively for the DVD. Also interwoven into the story are archival interviews with Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane. This DVD is one of the first four releases in the British Invasion series and is sold individually or as part of the British Invasion Boxset containing Gerry & The Pacemakers: It’s Gonna Be Alright 1963- 1965, Herman’s Hermits: Listen People 1964 – 1969 and Dusty Springfield Once Upon A Time 1964 – 1969.
Reelin’ In The Years Productions, has created some of the best loved and critically praised DVD series on the market today including the Definitive Motown series (Marvin Gaye, Temptations, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles), American Folk Blues Festival series and Jazz Icons series. Now, with Metropolis Studios’ Voyage label, they are proud to give the deluxe treatment to one of the greatest periods ever in music – the British Invasion. Each DVD features archival full-length television performances filmed back when the artists were in their prime and at the height of their careers. Interspersed between the performances, original band members talk about each song and recount special moments in the history of the group. In addition, each performance has been transferred from the original master tape and includes best-possible video and re-mastered audio. Each DVD also includes a 24-page booklet with insightful and informative essays by noted rock historians as well as previously unseen photos and memorabilia.
