Salvo will be releasing the next three Nazareth remasters on 15 February. Full details:

Hair of Dog

For album number six, Nazareth – singer Dan McCafferty, bass player Pete Agnew, guitarist Manny Charlton and drummer Darrell Sweet – wrote heavier material than ever before, both in response to the prevailing spirit on the scene at the time and because that was their natural frame of mind. This reissue expands upon one of the very finest, most influential (just ask Guns ‘n’ Roses) rock records of the era, highlighting just how hot Nazareth were around the time of its conception and release. We’ve added nine bonus cuts including Love Hurts, the two 1975 UK hits, My White Bicycle and Holy Roller, and five crunching numbers from a concert at London’s Paris Theatre in the same month that Hair Of The Dog hit the streets.

Loud ‘n’ Proud

This deluxe reissue of one of British heavy rock’s earliest classics – augmented by the inclusion of four choice BBC session recordings from August 1973 – celebrates the fact that the still-inexperienced Dunfermline group pulled off an extraordinary coup with Loud ‘N’ Proud. As Nazareth would tell you, being loud and proud isn’t just an album title – it’s a mission statement which made them stars then and an enduring institution today.

Rampant

“If it wasn’t for the Americans, we wouldn’t have rock’n’roll,” observes singer Dan McCafferty, three and a half decades after the release of Rampant, the aptly-titled collection of energetic rock anthems that was Nazareth’s fifth long player. “I always think, credit where it’s due,” he adds, grinning at the memory of those far-off years spent in the belly of the beast, America – Nazareth’s spiritual homeland. It’s easy to admire Rampant’s casually expert take on the vintage Americana which influenced Nazareth. Songs such as Silver Dollar Forger and Glad When You’re Gone contain copious tributes to the USA, which had been Nazareth’s most lucrative market since the release of the This Flight Tonight single the previous year.
