On 18 April 2011, Eagle Rock’s Armoury Records is delighted to release The Taking [Cat. No. ARMCD537] the brand new studio album by Duff McKagan’s Loaded. This is the band’s third album and the first to feature new drummer Isaac Carpenter. The rest of the line-up is, of course, Duff McKagan on vocals and rhythm guitar, Mike Squires on lead guitar and BVs and Jeff Rouse on Bass and BVs. Duff McKagan says, This is the album I’ve been trying to make for several years. I’m proud of the songs, the music and the spirit of this record.
The album features 11 new songs, which continuer the band’s trademark blend of hard rock with a punk edginess that makes them instantly identifiable. The songs were written aver a period of time in late 2009 / early 2010 and the band went into the studio in August 2010 with renowned rock producer Terry Date [Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Pantera etc]. The result is Loaded’s most accomplished and hard-hitting album to date.

The album will be partnered by a series of short films relating to each song. Created by film maker Jamie Burton Chamberlin, the films are linked by a narrative to form a continuous movie. These will be used individually online and released in their entirety online later in the year. Key album track, We Win, has already had serious exposure in the States as it has been used by ESPN within their Major League Baseball coverage, including the World Series. Footage of the band performing the track during the interval at the Seattle Seahawks’ Veterans’ Day game in November is up on YouTube. The band have also been confirmed for this year’s Download festival, for what will be Duff’s 6th appearance on the bill!
The Taking represents the latest burst in the ever-upward trajectory of Duff McKagan’s Loaded. It’s easy to believe them when they boast We Win – this is a band with some serious chops and, as The Taking proves; it’s not about the giving…
