Following Union Square Music’s purchase of the Nazareth catalogue, Salvo is set to commence a comprehensive reissue programme of the internationally renowned Dunfermline group’s catalogue, beginning this summer with a definitive 2CD ‘Best Of’ collection.
More than 40 years after they started out in 1968, Nazareth are still playing sell-out international tours and last year they released their 23rd album, The Newz. One of Britain’s biggest rock exports, they have enjoyed major success in the UK, throughout mainland Europe, South America, the USA and Canada.
Renowned as pioneers of the rock ballad, they enjoyed 13 UK hit singles – including ‘Broken Down Angel’, ‘Love Hurts’, ‘Bad Bad Boy’, ‘This Flight Tonight’ and ‘My White Bicycle’ – and are rightly famed for their songwriting as well as their brilliant interpretations of other artists’ tunes. They are also acknowledged as a major influence on giant rock acts like AC/DC and Guns N’ Roses.
